About Dan Wegener

Dan Wegener  represented the country as Australian Young Sommelier of the Year, winning fourth place at the 2011 World Championships in Athens. Around this time, Dan was curating as Head Sommelier at Quay in Sydney, before penning Australia’s most awarded wine list at Perth’s Print Hall (a recipient of the 2015 Ultimate Grand Award by Decanter Magazine, the highest global award for excellence in its field).

Since relocating to Western Australia in 2011 as Director of Beverage at Print Hall, Dan has emerged as a great advocate of WA wine. He has actively made a start at growing the Great Southern brand, particularly through his distribution business, The Drink Well Philosophy. Dan is currently chasing his Master Sommelier pin whilst judging at regional, state and national wine shows. He appears regularly as a wine commentator at festivals like Margaret River Gourmet Escape, and makes occasional appearances on Perth radio.
