Young Gun of Wine is an national wine maker competition in its ninth year hell bent on uncovering young at heart producers that have refreshed the Australian wine scene with their wares and attitude. This year Young Gun of Wine will bring its UNCUT exhibition to WA for the very first time on Friday Dec 2 down at Il Lido, Cottesloe.
Previous competition winners have included Pete Schell (Spinifex), Rollo Crittenden (Crittendon/Hermanos), Tarras Ochota (Ochota’s Barrels) and Fraser McKinley (Sami Odi).
Hoorah!, this year’s national winner was Margaret River’s Josephine Perry for her Dormilona label which is flying a very high flag for WA’s alternative, minimal intervention
Young Gun Western Australian producers will be well represented on the day which speaks volumes for the recent surge of impressive, free thinking winemaking going on in our great state. The likes of Dormilona, Brave New Wine, Express Winemakers, Flor Marché, Freehand, Goon Tycoons, Ipso Facto, Marq, Singlefile and tripe.Iscariot are all inner circle labels of the WA wine scene that are well on their march to national fame and will be amongst it on the day…. Il Lido Italian Canteen and Young Gun of Wine will bring more than twenty Young Gun Winemakers from all over the country to Cottesloe for a Stand-Up Friday Luncheon over three hours from 1pm on Friday December 2nd. Walk away with your complimentary Riedel glass, meander between the wine stars, taste their wares and feast on Il Lido antipasti, pasta and cheese – $70
